252)Putting makeup on in the morning and then decide a scab must be taken off, but even if it doesn’t bleed, or you manage to stop it, the wound is too wet to put cover up on. Red blotch for the day it is!

Sorry for the lack of daily posts lately, some posts didn’t go out of the queue when they were supposed to. Today things will be a little wonky and some posts will go up that aren’t in numerical order. After that, things should be running smoothly again :)

Anonymous asked: i am so glad to have found this blog. i've suffered from derma for my whole life, but within the past two years my scratching has gotten a lot worse. this is the first time i've actually found a space where people truly understand the effects of this disorder. when my parents see my scabs or scars they think i'm trying to hurt myself, and it's so hard to explain that it's not deliberate; it's a subconscious habit. i feel so comforted knowing that i am not alone.

Thank you, and good luck with your Derma!

Anonymous asked: for the person grinding their teeth: I do it too. Especially at night when I'm sleeping. I'm thinking maybe it's because I don't usually pick in my sleep, I get frustrated and grind my teeth. I'm not sure about anyone else but I definitely think it has some connection to my picking.

songbirdssing asked: You are beautiful and have a beautiful blog and I hope you know that you're never alone :) I know it's not much, but I'm always here to talk if you ever need someone who understands growing up with different struggles!

Thank you

Anonymous asked: Can someone have dermatillomania without having scars all over there arms? Except for that, I have a lot of the symptoms. My fingers are completely destroyed, I gnaw on my knuckles, between my lower lip and chin is picked raw, and I'm always using my teeth to pick inside my mouth. Oh and I do use tweezers and nail clippers on my fingers and toes/feet a lot. But I feel like because I don't have scabs and dark spots covering my arms/legs/stomach I don't have it

Absolutely, it doesn’t matter where you pick at all.

Anonymous asked: I told a very close friend about my problem and he did not judge me one bit and now it's been easier to kick the habit just from telling someone about it. My scalp picking is still bad, but my hands and fingers are doing great. Now, me and that boy are dating and I'm not scared to hold hands with him anymore. If you think you can't stop, you're wrong. It's so hard but it can be done! :)

Awww <3 that’s awesome that you’re dating him now and everything!  Thanks for sharing :)

Anonymous asked: For the anon who grinds their teeth: I have the same problem. My dentist fitted me with a night guard (almost like a mouth guard sports players use) that stops me from grinding my teeth when I sleep. It works wonders. Other than that, I don't know what else to do.
